Chain drive is widely used in agriculture, mining, metallurgy, petrochemical and lifting transportation industries. Chain drive can transmit power up to 3600 kW, which is usually used for power below 100 kW; chain speed can reach 30 ~ 40 m / s, and ordinary chain speed is less than 15 m / s. The transmission ratio can reach 15, generally less than 6, and the appropriate value is 0.2 ~ 2.5. Advantages: compared with belt transmission, it has no elastic sliding, can maintain accurate average transmission ratio, and has high transmission efficiency; the chain does not need a lot of tension, so the load of shaft and bearing is very small; it does not slip, has reliable transmission, strong overload capacity, and can work well under low speed and heavy load.

Disadvantages: variable instantaneous chain speed and instantaneous transmission ratio, poor transmission stability, impact and noise in operation. It is not suitable for high-speed occasions, and it is not suitable for occasions with frequent changes in rotation direction.
